March 31
Today I woke up with a spring to my step. As I was getting ready to head out the house I thought how different one year makes. Last year I spent 30 minutes pacing around the house. One year ago today I quit my job and entered the unemployment line. I did this during one of the worst economical times. I was at my breaking point with my former boss. I packed up my office and headed out the door never to look back. It was the BEST decision I have ever made!!!! Not one day have I regret walking out. Even when I had no idea if I was going to find a job and money was tight did I think oh I shouldn't have done that!
In the past year the week long headaches, stomach aches, crying and screaming has come to an end. My husband no longer suffers from me flying through the front door on my broom. If I do fly through the door on my broom it's because of some crazy people on Bart or in my 4 mile drive. I no longer receive phone calls from work on vacation, on the weekends, at night or early in the morning. The day before my wedding I received a work call as I was running around like a crazy person...can you help us get this report done. ARE YOU SERIOUS!?!?!?
I quit my job on the day my husband was promoted. What timing. He was worried how we were going to make it and why I couldn't find a job before quitting. If you have ever been at the end of your rope that is maybe the only way you could understand what I did. I didn't fall off the rope....I tried a knot and held on. Best knot I've tied at the end of my rope!!!!
I was unemployed for 2 months, found a job for 3 months and then came to work for my current employer. I now have a WONDERFUL boss who shares my name. She treats me like a respectable human.
I feel like the past year has actually been 2-3 years instead of just one. It has taken me almost a year to get over some issues. I spent 8 years of my life at my old job and my life revolved around work.
Tonight we will have a celebration! Every year we will celebrate March 31 as a wonderful day.

HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK
1. Open a new file in your computer.
2. Name it 'Barack Obama'.
3. Send it to the Recycle Bin.
4. Empty the Recycle Bin.
5. Your PC will ask you:
'Do you really want to get rid of 'Barack Obama?'
6. Firmly Click 'Yes.'
7. Feel better?
GOOD! - Tomorrow we'll do Nancy Pelosi.

Cooking Ahead
I like to cook meals ahead on Saturday or Sunday for the week. Tonight I made 3 meals for this coming week. It took me 2 hours this evening to prepare 3 meals. I will make one pasta dish tomorrow and we will be ready for the week.
1. Cuban Pork Chops
2. Buffalo Chicken Soup
3. Quesadilla Casserole
We were grocery shopping tonight and found this nifty little spice packet. It was all the spices to make Quesadilla Casserole. Recipe on the back, list of items to purchase and instructions. I quickly snatched up this nifty little thing and ran around the store picking up all the items I knew I didn't have at home. This will be a few meals for us this week. Makes a 9x13 pan. Looked really yummy. Was SUPER easy to make too!

Bathroom Ideas
The first 2 pictures are the color blue I am thinking about when I saw a blue bathroom. I am VERY much over the dusty blue color. I lived in the 80's-90's where our ENTIRE house was dusty blue.
I do like the below blue color. It's very cheery. Reminds me of a summer day!
Even though the below picture looks dusty blue I kind of like it. I think I like all the white.
Can you IMAGINE getting ready in the 2 bathrooms below? How would you be able to see straight after this mess?!?!?! Hey Grandma...it's a NAVY bathroom. =)
I thought I was always against dark colored bathrooms until the past 6 months. I stayed at my friend Krystal's house and she has her guest bathroom painted chocolate brown. I was getting ready in there one morning and I realized I loved the darker bathrooms. I was always worried my make up would be too dark or it would closed in. Not at all.

Shower Curtain
Remember this beauty I posted about awhile back? Well I still haven't won the lottery and buy this Anthopologie shower curtain for $118.00. It might help if I started to play the lottery.
Well I found this beauty online for $19.99. It's all white and beautiful!!!!! I ordered it this evening. I can't wait to put it in my new house!
Now we can paint the bathroom a color since we will have all white accessories. I LOVE picking out paint colors. My husband on the other hand is questioning my paint colors I am picking out. Maybe we will go with a blue in the master bath. hmmmm decisions!

Dimetapp
As a child when my mother would give me Dimetapp instead of it knocking me out and my mother getting some rest the opposite happened. I would go tearing around the house with tons of energy, but sick. Mother thinking oh she will sleep good WIDE AWAKE!!!
Well you think I would take a note of these things.....oh no. I am now 29...Yes, it's a sad year I am 29! Well I had a GREAT idea I would take dimetapp to help my lovely cold/allergies whatever this ruckus that is going on with me and sleep very well last night. 2 tablespoons later....
Art - Dear what is wrong with you?
Me - nothing why?
Art - you are talking 100 MPH and you won't stop moving all over the bed.
Me - laughing hysterically...oh no I shouldn't have taken Dimetapp I will be up all night...more laughter.
My wonderful husband doesn't find the humor in this at 10:30 at night. Finally around 11:30 I get up and go to the couch. I had flip around every which way on the bed. Went to the couch and finally fell asleep. Art claims he came to get me around 1:30am. Kicked me in the bootie and off to bed I went with him. He claims my bootie was sticking off the couch and I had my knee shoved in the couch. He is probably telling the truth....I am not the best person to sleep with.....unless you have shared a bed with Lacey. OH MY LORD......she goes to sleep in one direction and wakes up on the opposite end of the bed. Or you are waken up to her trying to lay right on top of you. those are stories for another day.

Living Room
The living room looks very similar to this right now. Our coffee table & end tables are a lighter wood. I really like the darker wood. Thinking of painting the tables darker.

Wordless Wednesday Update
See the pictures below? We are in the process of going through all the home inspections right now. The day we signed the papers the sellers took all the internet pictures down and the listing. I guess they are serious about selling to us.
I want to get through all the inspections and loan mumbo jumbo before I spill all the details. :)

Watch Out!
Watch out kids Kim Fischer is back in town!!!! My parents moved back to our home town in ND.
Tonight my mom called to fill me on the latest ruckus! My grandma works at a second hand store that is run by a board of directors Senior Citizen Center. She has been working there for about 10 yrs.
Grandma shared with me a couple weeks ago this new RUDE woman running the show has been mean to her. She use to leave kleenex all over the store blaming my grandma. Then she was saying rude mean things to my grandma. She said people were complaining my grandma wasn't giving the right change & she wasn't allowed near the register. She would call my grandma up sometimes saying mean things.
Today this RUDE woman was being mean to my grandma again & told her she had to leave the store. Then she PUSH grandma. My mom happened to call grandma tonight & heard what happened.
Well don't mess with Kim Fischer's family....mom called 6 out of the 7 board members. The 7th board member is out of town for the winter. She said this RUDE woman needs to be removed from the position or the authorities will be called. My grandma is 80 yrs old. What if she had lost her footing & fell? My grandma won't hurt a fly. She gets very upset if someone kills a fly & it doesn't die immediately. She doesn't want anyone to suffer.
Well my mother scared these people and they are having a special meeting tomorrow to discuss this issue. I'm so glad my mom took a stand against this RUDE woman!!!!

I have been reading Sarah Palin book Going Rogue: An American Life. I have liked Sarah Palin since I heard her VP speech. As time went on I just liked her more and more. She reminds me of my mom. 20+ years ago my mom was just like Sarah lobbying for different bills at the North Dakota State Capital. My mom drug us kids with her from the time we were very little lobbying for what she believed in. In my early teens I could tell you who every senator and representative was from each county, if they were Democrat or Republican, and the majority of each committees they sat on.
It has been almost one year ago I left my former employer. I thought by walking away the problems would go away. Needless to say I have dealt with plenty of nonsense in the past year. I read a quote that hit home to me. Yes, I am not in politics, but I feel the past 8 years was all about politics. The quote is "In politics, you're either eating well or sleeping well". I can say in the past year I have been sleeping well!
I feel since moving to CA I haven't really talked about politics. I live in one of the more liberal states. If you aren't liberal here then you are a joke. I disagree! I am a conservative and I love being a Republican. I have voted as a Republican for the past 11 years.
I love politics! Although I don't know that I could deal with all the nonsense that goes along with a position in a public office. When I was a little girl one of my goals was to a representative or senator for ND state capital. I think I will have to pass just due to all the snow!

Today it's raining buckets! As I was walking to the train it felt like someone was dumping buckets of water over me. I saw this man running through the parking lot...no big deal. I get inside the train station and notice the man has a SHOWER cap over his turban. Not just any shower cap....a HELLO Kitty shower cap!!!!OMG I couldn't stop laughing.
