Pandora

I have joined the Pandora club! When we were in the Bahamas we went into the Pandora Store. I was thinking about starting a Pandora bracelet. I was looking around the store and thought I would come back if I still really wanted a bracelet. Art said just buy a bracelet and a charm now. He was a little pushy about it, so I agreed. Art suggested the bracelet would also be good for vacation. I could get a charm when we go different places.

I picked out the turtle charm in honor of our vacation. We saw a couple turtles while we were out fishing.

I started a wish list on Pandora website. I added a punch of different charms to my wish list. Art bought me 3 new charms for my birthday.

Over the past year and a half I have transformed myself hoping one of the many things I've changed would help me stay pregnant. Here are just a few of the things I've changed.

- lost 80 pounds
- started exercising
- change how I eat
- gave up coffee
- gave up soda
- stopped taking over the counter medications
- started taking vitamins
- stopped dying my hair
- limited the amount of tea/caffeine I drink
- stopped getting flu shots
- try to limit my sugar intake

I have completely changed my though process on what's healthy, what we eat, why I exercise. While the list above might prolong my life and has made me a lot healthier it hasn't helped me stay pregnant. Instead I suffer one miscarriage after another.

The other night I thought maybe giving up sugar will be the final trick. That day I went & got a flu shot. Three days later I drank a soda and thought about drinking coffee. I have done absolutely every single possible thing I could do to stat pregnant and it hadn't worked. I'm not sure why God isn't sick of hearing from me and hasn't just given in. I keep asking him to show me what lesson I need to learn through all this, but I am not sure I know yet. If it is patience well that is a work in progress from the most impatient person!

Going forward I'm going to work on staying balanced, healthy, moderation & find a new goal in life. My goal for the past 3.5 years has been to be a mom. I don't know if that will ever be a reality. Instead I'm going to focus on finding a new goal in life. Finish college and being thankful for the I have been given.
I tried to convince Art to sell the house & become traveling Gypsies, but he isn't going for it. I wrote this blog post a couple weeks ago. When I wrote it I wrote how I didn't know what my new goals in life would be or what I wanted to do when I grow up. Well I have set some goals for 2013, but I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

How in the world can I be 32 already?  When I turned 30 I asked my dad how he felt having such an elderly child?  He just laughed. I told my mom it was just last year she turned 30 how in the world could I be 30?  I am proud of myself for maintaining my weight loss over the past year. I sure look a lot better at 32 than I did at 30. lol

I hope 32 teaches me to be more thankful for all the wonderful people and things I do have in my life. To focus on the right now instead of the future or the what might be.

To another year of life.....

Bart Happenings

Probably the funniest drunk/high guy on Bart last week. As the train approached the platform he was chasing the train. When the doors opened he ran inside, grabbed the bars and started swinging. Then he started telling people how to do pull ups. How the bars were great to do pulls ups or swing on them. He was swinging around on the bars trying to talk to everone. Then he starts yells "hey where am I going San Francisco?" He started to go to a different train car and then came back. He saw a seat, sat down and fell asleep for a little bit. When we got to my station he asked where the train was going and realized he was headed the wrong direction. He ran out and I don't know what happened to him.

Thankful

The start of 2012 was a rough start. You can read more about it in My Biggest Fear Became a Reality. The past week I have been pretty down thinking of turning 32, being away from my family for the holidays, and no babies yet.

As I sat in church today I thought of the fact I have life. I could have died this past January. Although I never thought I would die that day. I knew I would be just fine. I remember thinking of just my poor husband that day trying to find me in the ER. I kept telling the nurse to go find him. When I heard him in the hallway of the ER I knew everything would be just fine.

Each year I put off going back to school and planning vacations for the future year. I don't plan either of those things because just maybe I could end up pregnant and carry the baby to full term. If I was pregnant we can't be traveling all over. I don't want to be in school and giving birth. Well 2013 is going to be a different year.

We bought a cruise to Alaska for this next summer. In January I am going back to school full time to finish my AA. It is time to get these things done. Although I am nervous how am I going to handle 3 classes while working full time. I am making it a goal to finish the last 5 classes by the end of summer. I will just have to put some of my life on hold to finish things I have started.

I also need to work on being thankful for the things I do have in the last few days of 2012 and all of 2013 instead of the things I do not have.

Sock Bun

I actually tried a sock bun! I LOVED it!!!! It was SUPER easy. I used a sock, rolled my hair around it and wa-la I had a bun! This is going to be my go to hair do for days I want something fast.

Art found a new stocking! He said he wants a BIG one for LOTS of stuff. Evidentially he forgot who Santa actually is & who buys all the presents!

Prayers for TJ

Over the summer my friend TJ found out he has stage 4 melanoma. He has beat melanoma once before and we know he will beat it once again. TJ is fighting very hard to beat this, but he needs everyone prayers.


While we were traveling back from the Bahamas we were able to stop and visit with Jen & TJ for a little while. It was one of the highlights of my trip!

Wordless Wednesday

Grown Up

We are trying this whole grown up bed making that includes a fitting sheet. Most of the time we sleep without the fitted sheet. A fitted sheet can be very annoying. It gets untucked, pushed to the bottom of the bed, tangled around your feet, or tangled around your body as you toss & turn.

Making our bed is a rare thing. We fix the blankets before bed and climb in. I don't have time to be dealing with making a bed in the morning let alone fixing the top sheet. When we bought our California king size bed I packed the top sheet away.

When we went on vacation I actually loved using the top sheet. It was nice to pull it up around my shoulders and doze off. It was rather cozy.

This past weekend we really cleaned our bedroom. I pulled out the 800 count new sheets I bought, washed them & decided to use the top sheet. Well so far so good! I really think the difference is the higher thread count!!! So we are going to give this grown up bed making a second chance!

Wordless Wednesday

Cousins

This year I've been able to see all my cousins except 3. On out trip home from the Bahamas we had a 4 hour layover in Ft Lauderdale. I was able to spend a couple hours with Liz! I haven't seen her in 3 years, but we talk quite often. We talk more now that she lives too far away then when she lived 30 min away :(

Between Liz and I we have lost 130 pounds since we last saw each other. It was so nice to get caught up! Hopefully we will be able to see each other again very soon! Three years is way too long!

Menu Monday

Well it's back to planning menus. It was nice to not worry with what to cook for an entire week! Today is going to be a rough reality Monday....back to work after 10 days off.

I bought hot pink & mint shorts on clearance at Gap. These are the most comfortable shorts ever!!! I wore the pink ones so much. 

GIANTS!!!!

Last Wednesday was not only Halloween it was also the celebration parade for the San Francisco Giant's! It was such an exciting day! The Giant's swept the Tigers!!!!

In 2010 I didn't even try to attempt to go to the parade.  When I stepped off Bart on Wednesday I saw they were lining up on the street where I work. OMG!!! I decided I am going to head out around 10:30 to see if I could see any players. Well wasn't I pleasantly surprised. I saw about 10 players. I REALLY wanted to see Zito and Wilson. All the others are great, but those 2 are my favorite. Well I got to see them!!! Eeeekkkk!!!!

Here are some of the pictures from the parade line up. There was a 10 foot tall fence around the players with tons of security. I was able to get up close enough to take pictures through the fence, but some of the other pictures have the fence in the way.

Halloween Pics

Art and I have a tradition where we sit outside to pass out candy. We started this because Sammy goes CRAZY when people ring the door bell.  Well he still goes crazy when he hears people coming to the front of the house. He was barking his head off on Halloween. I even took him outside to sit on my lap. He growled at everyone who came near us. Back in the house he went.

I usually sit outside for about an hour. Art LOVES Halloween. He sits outside the entire time.  Here are some pictures of us sitting outside.

I made them this past weekend with mint oreos. I sent half the pan home with Amber because I was worried I would eat the whole pan. They are simply just amazing! Try them out this week!
