SHAVED!!!!!

Halloween night Art shaved his face after 6+ months. I like him with a goatee, but I was happy to see the goatee go this time around. I took pictures as he shaved.

The above picture was hard to take because we both kept laughing!

Veteran's Day!

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

Happy Birthday to the Marines!

Happy Birthday to the Marines!!!! I married the best Marine!!!!

Loaded Bake Potato Soup

Loaded Bake Potato Soup

3 cups of milk
3 cups of chicken broth
8 medium potatoes
2/3 cup flour
1 heaping cup of cheese
1 pound of bacon
1 cup sour cream
1 bunch of green onions
salt & pepper to taste

Fry bacon in large pot. Remove bacon when done, but leave bacon grease. Stir in 2/3 cup of flour into bacon grease. Add milk, chicken broth, potatoes, half of green onions, bring to a boil, reduce to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Stir in cheese, cream cheese and simmer for a couple minutes. Add remaining green onions and all the bacon to pot. I saved a little bacon and green onions to sprinkle over the top. Serve and enjoy!

30-30-30-30.......

Every day I receive a text from Art with the number of days left until I turn the BIG THREE ZERO. I have been a little annoyed by this count down because I don't want to leave my 20's. I decided the other day I am going to STOP dreading the big birthday that is coming because there is NOTHING I can do about it. It's coming no matter if I cry, kick or scream. I came to decision while I was walking past the daycare by work and a kid threw himself on the ground crying. I just started laughing.

I googled some celeb's who were born in 1980 and also turned 30 in 2010. I was born in a year with some great looking people. In another 20 days I entered into my 30's.......

The Belly Fat Cure

Art and I started doing The Belly Fat Cure about 3 weeks ago. The first week I lost 2 inches and Art lost 1 pant size. In the past 3 weeks I have lost 4 inches across my belly and Art went down 3 pant sizes.

We eat 15 grams of sugar or less and 6 servings of carbs per day. A carb equals 5-20 grams of carbohydrates. We eat the majority of proteins.

I have so much more energy. I don't require a cup of coffee to wake up. I haven't lost as fast as Art has and I have been stricter with myself. Isn't that the luck women have?

Below is a picture of the book. You can find it on Amazon for $10.49. It's amazing how great this eating plan works!

Nine West Shoes

I stopped by Nine West the other day during my lunch hour. I simply browsed and drooled over some of the newest shoes/boots.

Oh these boots are my favorite....I love the buttons down the side and the fact they are folded over. Adorable!

I tried the above shoes on and LOVE the way they looked. They were very comfy too. I just couldn't justify spending $50 on peep toe shoes for the winter.

Ooooh la la!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes. I just stood there and stared at them. Check out the picture below of them from the side.

The boots would look super cute with black slacks!

HEAVENLY!!!!! I would have purchased these boots if they had them in my size. I am a sucker for bows right now. ADORABLE!!!!!
