Mommy & Me Zoo Fun

I am so glad that we bought our Oakland Zoo membership. We have used it numerous times just in the month we have had it. G and I went one morning as soon as the zoo opened. It was such a nice fun relaxing morning just the 2 of us at the zoo. We took our time seeing whatever animals we wanted. We probably only saw half the animals. It was just a perfect day at the zoo.  I packed lots of snacks and drinks.

We rode the train and carousel.

G just started riding on animals on a carousel. In the past he would only ride on the bench seat. He picked out the elephant and just love it.

We picked up our zoo keys on our way out. I kept forgetting to claim the keys until we left this last time. G thinks these are his keys. The next time we go we will have to use them in the boxes.

Fun at the Zoo!

We recently bought a yearly pass to the Oakland Zoo. At first I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend $120 for a yearly pass. I thought I will take G once to see if he likes it then we will decided. I started to add up just how much one day would cost us to go to the zoo. It would cost us over half of what a yearly pass would cost just for the 3 of us to go. I decided if we went twice to the zoo the yearly pass would pay for itself.

We went to the zoo this past week. G had the BEST time! He ran around the zoo like crazy. We took some of our friends with us. We spent 3 hours there looking at the animals, riding the train and carousal.

G LOVES goats! He has loved goats since he was just tiny. I think we spent the most time with the goats. He was running around the goat area like crazy. He loved petting and brushing them.

We will be spending a lot of time at the zoo this summer! We packed snacks to eat along the way and enjoyed our time.

I HATE SNAKES!!!!

I went to get my lunch out of the fridge today and what do I see....a snake. Back in July my employer had a picnic at the zoo. Art found this snake in the gift shop and HAD to have it. I find this snake in my purse, work bag, under my pillow, by the foot of the bed, by the front door....you name it he has put the snake around the house trying to scare me. I pick it up and throw it across the room screaming I HATE SNAKES!!!! He thinks it's hysterical. He wanted to put the snake in my car this morning, but ran out of time.

The Zoo

Yesterday the company I work for had a picnic at the San Francisco Zoo. We had to go on a camera scavenger hunt for the first 2 hours. Then we went back and had lunch. We had a lot of fun. Art and I went to look at all the animals at the end. We didn't have time to look at the animals while we were running around taking pictures.

My husband being a cute kangaroo!
Prairie Dogs
Here is a picture of the cage where the tiger jumped out and killed the kid in 2007, I believe. Now they have glass over, so it can't jump out. Art and I were talking how the tiger had to be really mad in order to jump so far. It isn't just a little jump. Doesn't look as big in the picture.
Art said the female lion was acting like me...She kept putting her feet on the male lion. He said I always have to touch him while I am sleeping. When the male lion would move she would wake up and move closer to him. Aw how sweet. =)

Bear digging fish out of an ice block.

Me next to zebra and giraffe. I had a giraffe print purse and a zebra headband. Festive!
This man was carrying the eagle to scare some of the birds away, while they fed some gross birds! See the bird above with the long hanging things on their neck.

The peacock above just walked right in front of me across the path. So pretty!
