Egg Souffle

I was brave and tried to make egg souffle.  My #1 mistake was I didn't know the correct amount of time to bake the souffle.  I took it out of the oven and it should have cooked for about 10 minutes.  The whole thing fell!  I guess I shook it or set it down to heavy. UGH!!!  The good news....it still tasted DELICIOUS!!!  I didn't take a picture because it was all slumped in the bottom of my pan. : (

Flower Arrangement

I wanted a summer flower arrangement for my dining room table. I really wanted hydrangeas, but they were $8 to $12 bucks a flower at Michael's.  I really didn't want to wait in line 3 times to buy 1 flower at a time & use a 40% coupon.  Michael's had their summer flowers 40% off.  I found 3 bunches for less than $10 bucks.

I cut each stem off the bunch of flowers with a wire cutter and then took off the fake leaves. I honestly do not like fake flowers, but these cost less than buying real flowers each week.  I then put all the green flowers in the mini milk can.  I only put 4 pink gerber daisy's to help fill in empty space.

Another recipe.....

I feel like the blog lately has all about food or random things.  I am going to work on other projects soon.  I am getting a little sick of just seeing food on the blog...however we have been eating some amazing FOOD!  I made Brussels sprouts, apples & bacon for dinner the other night.  Follow the instructions when cooking the food.  Do not cook the apples & Brussels sprouts at the same time.  The apples get very soggy. ugh!  Art just looked at the picture & said oh that was delicious!  I think it was a hit kids. :)

Memorial Day

The Noble and the Brave:
When America had an urgent need,
These brave ones raised a hand;
No hesitation held them back;
They were proud to take a stand.

They left their friends and family;
They gave up normal life;
To serve their country and their God,
They plowed into the strife.

They fought for freedom and for peace
On strange and foreign shores;
Some lost new friends; some lost their lives
In long and brutal wars.
Other veterans answered a call
To support the ones who fought;
Their country had requirements for
The essential skills they brought.

We salute every one of them,
The noble and the brave,
The ones still with us here today,
And those who rest in a grave.

So here’s to our country’s heroes;
They’re a cut above the rest;
Let’s give the honor that is due
To our country’s very best.

Sammy

I made a new little scarf for Sammy.  I told him to sit, so I could take his picture.  As soon as he saw the camera he shut his eyes to avoid a flash.

I went to pick up Sam from the in laws the other day.  He sat on the chair patiently waiting for me to put his leash on him, so we could go home.

Makers Fair Part 2

Mac n' Cheese Soup

I made mac n cheese soup the other night for dinner.  I loved it.  Art liked it, but thought it should be cheesier. If you make it let me know what you think.  I will make it again!

Makers Fair Part 1

This past weekend Art, Dan & me went to the Maker's Fair. I was looking forward to lots of DIY crafts or stuff for the house. This was nothing what I expected.  There were robots of all sorts, large bikes, solar everything, freaky looking people and green DIY stuff.

Garden

Here is the garden in progress.  We have about 100 tomato plants in the garden or in the planter boxes.  One of the planter boxes Art put some soil from his worms & the plants are growing like CRAZY!  We bought some worms to put in the ground to help with the terrible soil.  We also dumped numerous bags of top soil in the garden.

Garden

I help some with the garden, but Art does the majority of the work.  I just want to show some pictures of me tilling the garden.  I tilled almost the entire garden.  Art had to do a little more after I was done.  It was hard work with the tough soil.  Watch for pictures of our 100 tomato plants, a couple cucumber and pepper plants.  I need to start buying jars to can with this Fall.  I am going to have tomatoes busting out my front door.

New shoes

I bought some new wedges recently from Payless & they are SUPER comfy!!!! I can wear them all day long and my feet aren't sore.  I love these!  Great price, cute, comfy & I can walk in them. I have issues in walking in shoes with more than a 2 inch heel.  Not these puppies.

Bread Pudding

I have never been a fan of bread pudding until this past weekend.  I dvr a Sandra Lee episode regarding bargain brunch recipes.  She made a bread pudding with ham pieces.  I had everything, so I tried it.  It is super delish!  I am trying to mix things up for our breakfast each week.
