GLITTER BALLOONS....HELLOOOOO GENIUS IDEA!!!!!

I love me some glittery anything!  I was browsing around on Pinterest the other day and saw the picture below for glitter balloons. Luckily the blog link was included for Domestic Charm. Check out the blog to make your very own glitter balloons. I think this would be adorable for a holiday, shower or girly birthday party.

Last Weekend Haul

Saturday I went shopping with my friend Cindy. When we go out we are DANGEROUS! Most of the time we come home with a car load full of stuff. Cindy went with me to help me do wedding shopping a few years back. When we got back to her house the entire trunk was full. Then we had to transfer everything to my car. My trunk and entire inside of the car was PACKED! I barely had enough room to put my purse and myself.  We still laugh about it.

Anyhow this past Saturday we went shopping. She recently had a birthday, so we got together to celebrate.  On our list was the mall, Target and wherever else we ended up.

We ended up at New York & Company. I had received a text earlier that day notifying me of  50% off the entire store. Well we had to go to check out the place. I went to the fitting room with an arm full of stuff. One of the items I picked up was the polka dot skirt below. It was on a rack that said 70% off, but I wasn't sure if it was in the right place. It was in the right place and I got the skirt for $14 bucks! DEAL!

I wore the outfit below on Easter Sunday to church.

Tank top: Target
Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Watch, Necklace & Skirt: New York & Company
Bracelets: Sears Outlet
Shoes: Marshalls
Nail polish: Essie Watermelon

Next item to try on was the black dress below. It fit really nice. I loved the neck. I had Cindy come look at it and she said I had to buy it. On me it is not as short as on the model. It hits in the middle of my knee. I bought a leopard belt earlier in the week. I think I am going to wear it to a wedding we have in a couple weeks with the leopard belt. The dress was $35.

We also made a stop at Gap. I remembered when I walked in about a gray jacket I had tried on at Gap earlier in the week. There is a Gap near my work. I walk there sometimes to see what is on sale/clearance. I have found some great bargains doing a weekly check at the Gap and The Loft. I found a pair of trousor jeans for $5.24 with tax at the Loft.

I love this jacket. It is gray with a bright pink lining. The jacket was originally $98.00 and marked down to $39.99. I decided to get it. When I got to the register it was marked down more. My total price for the jacket was $32.00 with tax. Wooo hooo!

I need to put myself on a shopping restriction! I love to shop!!! I can buy clothes at almost every store now, so I love it that much more!

Did you buy anything this weekend? Did you find any deals?

Menu Monday

Well folks there isn't really a menu Monday for this week.  Art and I are going to do the 3 day diet. The rest of the week we will be celebrating our anniversary.  What do you have on your menu for this week?

Saturday Pinterst - Easter Outfits

Here are a few ideas for Easter outfits that I found on Pinterest. I have less than 24 hours and I am still not sure what I will be wearing to church tomorrow. I wanted a flowery dress/skirt. I have one, but it rather casual. Maybe I will find something today, while I am out shopping. Do you have your Easter outfit ready?

Turkey Cutlets With Peas and Spring Onions

Jillian Michael's had this recipe on her website this past week. I thought it sounded amazing! I will be adding it to our menu for the very near future.

Turkey Cutlets With Peas and Spring Onions

Ingredients
1/2 cup flour (preferably whole-wheat)
1/2 teaspoon salt, divided
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 pound organic turkey breast, cutlets or steaks, 1/4-inch thick
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, divided
4 ounces organic shiitake mushrooms, stemmed and sliced (about 1 1/2 cups)
1 bunch organic spring onions (or scallions), sliced, whites and greens separated
1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup dry white wine, (such as Sauvignon Blanc)
1 cup organic peas, fresh or frozen (thawed)
1 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest

Preparation

1. Whisk flour, 1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper in a shallow dish. Dredge each turkey cutlet in the flour mixture. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the turkey and cook until lightly golden, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to a plate; cover with foil to keep warm.

2. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon oil to the pan and heat over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and onion (or scallion) whites and cook, stirring often, until the mushrooms are browned and the whites are slightly softened, 2 to 3 minutes. Add broth, wine and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon salt; cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is slightly reduced, 2 to 3 minutes.

3. Stir in peas and onion (or scallion) greens and cook, stirring, until heated through, about 1 minute. Stir in lemon zest. Nestle the turkey into the vegetables along with any accumulated juices from the plate. Cook, turning the cutlets once, until heated through, 1 to 2 minutes.

Makes 4 servings.

I can't believe the following words came out of my mouth!

I can't believe I am about to admit this.....We are officially owners of Crocs. I never ever ever thought I would say those words. I have HATED Crocs for YEARS!!!! I have even wondered if I could be friends with people who wore them.

Have you gone to a Croc store or looked at them online lately?  Well the styles have drastically changed.  They now have other styles beside the generic horrifically ugly clogs. I despise the clogs, but I have been told I will change my mind when I have kids. I guess they are the greatest things for kids to put on. lalalalalala I can't hear you!

Back to being the owners of Crocs. A couple weeks ago Art and I went shoe shopping for him. We were at Sports Authority. I was walking around the store searching for shoes for him to try on. I came back to where he was to find him with a pair of Crocs in his hand. I almost lost it right then and there.

I told him PUT THOSE BACK and DON'T EVER TOUCH THEM AGAIN. Then I got a lecture about how he just had tried on the most comfortable shoes in his LIFE! Then Art got a lecture about how unstylish, horrendous and UGLY those things are. We went round and round about the Crocs. I have heard about them for a few weeks.

I showed Art a few styles of Crocs online that would be acceptable. BUT the clog type would NEVER be acceptable. Art tried to talk me into the clogs to wear in the backyard. NO WAY!

Zulily had Crocs on sale. I saw a cute pair of leopard Crocs and a pair for Art that would be acceptable.  We were going to the outlet mall that has a Croc store. I told Art lets go inside to try on the styles we like. If they fit I will order them online. Lord have mercy....Art bought his first pair of the Santa Cruz style.

On the drive home Art tried on his new shoes. He took a picture of them and sent it to numerous family and friends. He kept going on and on about how they are the most comfortable shoes EVER! He told me he was upset I have neglected him for the past 4 years of wearing comfortable shoes.

When I got home I checked out Zulily again. They still had the leopard shoes in my size. I am glad I tried them on because I need a size smaller than normal. I also ordered Art another pair of his most favorite shoes EVER! I was able to buy 2 pairs on Zulily for the price Art paid for one pair at the outlet.

3 Years

Today 3 years ago I finally had enough and walked out of my job.  I haven't regretted one single day of my decision. I feel it was one of the best decisions I have made.

Today is a day to celebrate! I will not ever put up with someone treating me so poorly ever again.

Nana's Birthday

This past weekend was my mother in laws birthday.  I have been blessed with a mother in law that loves the simple things in life. I asked her what she would like to eat and what kind of cake. She told me she wanted a baked chicken and a Jello Cheesecake.

My mother in law is the QUEEN of buying us stuff from infomercials and seen on tv store. I went to try to find something she doesn't have from the store and found one thing.  The One Second Needle kit. She also likes to buy us gag gifts.  While we were grocery shopping Art picked out a packet of prunes. MIL & FIL got quite a laugh out of the prunes. MIL told us the needle and the prunes were her favorite gifts. lol

Bart Happenings Week 10

WOW I can't believe I have already posted 10 weeks of Bart craziness. When Art suggested writing about Bart, I wasn't sure I could come up with enough stories. What was I thinking? Of course I can come up with stories. There is usually a story every single day. Some of it I notice and a lot I don't. You just get use to the craziness happening around you.

Earlier this week a woman got on the train and ran to an empty seat. When she arrived she noticed the guys coat was laying on the seat. She picked it up with the tips of her fingers and laid the jacket on the sleeping guy. Well that woke him up. He was drunk and decided he wanted to chat. The woman was very into her book and didn't want to chat with him.

The man got out of his seat and started ranting. He was very upset that people just don't want to carry on a proper conversation these days. I think he yelled for about 3-4 minutes and then got off the train at the next stop.  Some of the people shook their heads and a few of us busted up laughing.  The lady sitting behind me asked exactly what a proper conversation on Bart is?  No one talks on Bart, so why did he think it would be proper.

Rio Vista Clyde

One of my coworkers recently took me to Rio Vista Clyde at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. O-M-G is that place AMAZING!!!! Everything is made with fresh organic food.

They have the most amazing pulled pork sandwich. The pork is soooo tender and flavorful! If you are ever in the area try the pulled pork and one of their salads. Mmmmmm I am getting hungry just thinking about the place!
