Menu Monday

Wow September is flying by! Art and I have been on the go nonstop traveling all of September. We were able to spend time with my aunt & uncle, cousins and my parents in Pennsylvania for my cousin Stephanie wedding. We came home for a couple days. Art then left to work in Oregon. When he was gone I left to go work in LA for a couple days. While I was in LA I saw my uncle, aunt, cousin & his new bride. It was a very nice trip to LA. Even dessert on Rodeo Dr...more on that I'm another post!

Luckily I made a smart decision to do the grocery shopping the night before I left for LA. I have been so exhausted lately the last thing I wanted to do was grocery shopping, but boy am I glad I did!!!!

I planned our menu ahead of time for quick easy meals this week. I needed some meals I can throw in the oven, crockpot or my mouth lol

Here is our menu for the week.
Tacos
Crockpot chilli
Spaghetti
Salmon

I am not a fan of frozen meals. I don't feel they are the best things to eat. I try to eat as clean as possible during the week. Frozen meals can have a lot of preservatives. I tend to make our meals from scratch 95% of the time. The grocery store had smart ones on sale for 1.88 a meal. I grabbed a few last week. I knew coming home late on Sunday I would be exhausted. Smart plan because it was so nice to grab a frozen box from the freezer and run out the door.

Cousins say the cutest things!

I wrote down a couple things my cousins said while we were in PA. I wish I had wrote done more because these kids are full of laughs!

Claire and I were sitting at the table eating lunch. Out of the blue she asks me

Claire: "What state are you from?"

Me: California

Claire: I don't know what state I'm from, but I know what country I am from  - AMERICA!

Claire 

Claire: What is your name?

Me: What do you think it is?

Claire: What is it water bottle?

- I cracked up laughing....I am known for drinking a lot of water....The rest of the trip Claire called me water bottle. When I was leaving she gave me a big hug and said bye water bottle. 

Noah

Noah went up to my aunt:

Noah: Mom, I need money

 Aunt: You don't need money you're a kid

Noah: That's exactly why I need money because I'm a child who loves money

I didn't even know computers this large still worked! 

La La Land

I'm in LA for a couple days. Sitting in traffic is a hobby in LA. My GPS asked if I wanted to switch to pedestrian mode after driving 1 mile in 15 minutes. 2 miles in 30 minutes....gotta love LA!

Wordless Wednesday

9-11

Last week Tuesday we went to the 9-11 memorial in NYC. As I was walking up to the monuments I felt over come with emotion which turned to anger. Anger for how it change everyone of our lives. Anger for what it has done to my husband. I'm proud of my husband for fighting for our freedom. I just hate the toll it had taken in him.

In October 2011 I decided to give up coffee.  I did it for numerous reasons. I had read a book stating coffee can dry out your body and my acupuncturist told me the same thing. I also was consuming too much caffeine, so I decided it was time to just drink tea instead. I made it for almost a year until this happened…..

My cousins had been talking about Dunkin Donut coffee on Facebook for months. The moment we landed in Newark I found a Dunkin Donuts. Eeekkk!!! I decided I needed to try it immediately! Well I bought a medium regular iced vanilla coffee. The most caffeine I had in almost a year was 2-3 cups of green tea max. I was WIRED for the entire day. I went all day on 2 hours of sleep and felt completely fine.

Now that I am back home all I want is a pumpkin spice latte from Dunkin Donuts. California doesn’t have Dunkin Donuts, so I am crap out of luck! I tried the Starbucks pumpkin spice iced latte…..it is half the amount for a $1 more than Dunkin Donuts. It is not the same. ::::pouts::::

On our way to NYC we stopped off at a Dunkin Donuts. I was stuck in the way back of the vehicle, so my mom offered to get me a coffee. When mom was waiting inside I sent a text asking her to also bring me 16 donut holes. She came back with a box of 25. I cracked up! I was only joking about the donut holes and she actually tried to get me 16. 

Oh how I miss you Dunkin Donuts….my wallet and my waist do not miss you one little bit! Until we meet again my dear friend. ::::mu ah:::

Bart Happenings

See the women below in the orange backpack?  

This woman not only doesn't know how to park. She got mad at me because I was trying to drive down the aisle and she was going the WRONG way down the aisle. She just sat there in her car glaring. Ummmm you are the IDIOT traveling the wrong direction. Did you not see the arrows?

She cuts me off as I am trying to go through the gates, cuts me off in line, drives the incorrect direction, parks the wrong direction and acts oblivious!  All the cars in the parking lot park diagonally. She pulls into the stall the and parks with her car facing out instead of in. When she goes to pull out of the stall she takes the risk daily of hitting other cars....AND driving the wrong way down the aisle AGAIN. 

I took the pictures of her to send to my friend Cindy. Instead of letting her make me mad daily I have moved to a different line at Bart. If we arrive at the same time I give her a 1-2 minute head start, so I won't get annoyed with her.

The black shoes I am wearing are my VERY favorite shoes! I bought them at Macy for about $20. I have gotten so much use out of them. I noticed the soles are starting to wear down. I hope I am able to find another pair of cute comfy shoes similar.
