Father's Day Gift Ideas

A few years back we started Amazon wishlists around Christmas time to share with family.  I really love wishlists because you can put all different price points on the list. I also love them because it takes the guessing out of what to buy people for a gift. People don't feel obligated to buy a certain thing and can pick what fits their budget.

Art's wishlists usually have some of the craziest things on them. I usually have to ask him to clean up his wishlist before his birthday and Christmas. Right now he has some fake black birds on his list. I am sure he wants them to try to scare us. Thankfully he is very easy to buy for and never complains about gifts. He is always happy even with the smallest gifts.

Here are a few gift ideas I came up with for the father's in our lives. I really love my stainless steel tumbler. It keeps my liquids cold for hours without sweating. I hate cups that sweat. Most men can use a good grooming set and a nice watch. Daniel Wellington watches are so classic and timeless!

You can find the gift ideas on the links below or also on Amazon. If you click on the numbers above the links will take you to Amazon. I shop on Amazon because their prices are great, no shipping and Prime gets it to me in just a couple days.

Monday Thrive June 5

Happy Monday!

1) This is our last week before preschool starts and vacations begin. G is enrolled in preschool for 2 days a week this fall. They suggested to enroll him in a session of summer school, so he would get use to things. Summer school is every day for 3 hours a day. I was hesitant to enroll him at first. Every day is a lot to me, but it is only for 4 weeks. Then we will be going to my parents for a month. When we come home we will have about a month before preschool starts up 2 days a week.

I have plans to paint the trim in our house and go to hot yoga while he is in school every day. I am going to feel lost, so I felt I needed to find some activities to keep me busy. We will have our afternoons free to go to the zoo or other activities. I think we are both going to like the little change for a month.

2) Cinemark is offering $1 movies or $5 for 10 movies in select theaters near you. Click on the link to see if any movies are playing near you. G loves The Secret Life of Pets. They are playing that a couple times at different theaters new us this summer. I am planning to take him to a couple of these movies. I figure if he sits for 30 minutes for $2 it's no big deal. It will be something fun for us to do together and with friends. I am not sure how he will like a dark theater.

3) Later this week I have a gift guide for Father's Day posts. My sister and I usually go in on a gift for our dad together. If you ask my mom what to get my dad she will say get him black jeans. If you ask my dad he will say DO NOT BUY ME BLACK JEANS I HAVE 100 PAIRS. It's a running joke between Lacey and I now. Hey it's dad's birthday do you want to buy the jeans or should I? He does have a ton of them! I need to figure out what to get him and have it sent, so it doesn't arrive 2 weeks after Father's Day. He is an easy person to buy for since he likes almost anything other than black jeans. lol

4) I recently read an article about a mother who started parenting like a Danish for a week. I really loved the article. I try to parent partially like this. I don't hover around G. I have always felt it was important that he should play independently. I also will let him run around the house without me following him around. I keep doors shut to rooms I feel he could get hurt or I put things up. I have noticed lately that he is playing better alone and his imagination is really growing. He was playing with his pets the other day with different voices pretending they were putting out fires. He is REALLY into fire trucks, fire poles, putting out fires etc. He still loves garbage trucks, but firemen/trucks are right up there with them now. What do you think of this article?

5) Tomer Kosher recently sent me a variety pack of their beef jerky. I love jerky! The problem now that I am Paleo is trying to find jerky with ingredients that I don't cringe over or make me sick. They sent me the original, pepper, Cajun, hot and jalapeno. When I see hot jerky that is what I go for first. I love spicy things! My palette for spicy things is high I guess because this didn't seem hot to me at all. I have tried the original and Cajun. Art and I both really liked the Cajun. It has a kick to it!

I really appreciate Tomer Kosher sending me the jerky. We have only ate 3 of them. I am trying to enjoy them as we eat them. lol I will purchase these in the future. These are something I would much rather my family eat then others on the market loaded with questionable ingredients. G loves jerky! Tomer Kosher mini beef sticks would be awesome because G would love them. =)

Weekly Menu - Paleo

I try to only go grocery shopping once every two weeks. I make a list for Costco and one for the grocery store. Lately I have been using Amazon Fresh. The things I can't get at Costco I have Amazon Fresh deliver to me. Amazon Fresh does have a service charge they charge you on a monthly basis. I have been debating if I should continue with the service or not. I love that I can order $40 worth of groceries for a free delivery fee and pick when I want them delivered. I can get things from them cheaper than going to the store. Sometimes I feel I have to go to numerous stores to get things. There are certain things Sprout's carries that my regular store doesn't carry. I can get things cheaper at the regular store then Sprout's. Amazon Fresh just helps me eliminate running to 2-3 stores. You can get some great deals from Amazon Fresh too. Sometimes they offer $.25 or $1.00 items.

I buy most of my veggies at Costco. They will last us two weeks. Things like celery, potatoes, onions, and carrots last us a lot longer. I go through usually two packs of the kale salad, cherry tomatoes, 5 heads of romaine lettuce, and cauliflower each week. There are a lot of other things I go through on a weekly basis, but those veggies are always on the list.

Main Dishes:

Cobb Salads
Beef & Broccoli
Tilapia Fish
Chick Fil A Chicken Nuggets
Meatballs
Enchiladas

We will have similar side dishes from last week. I have also been putting a bowl of raw veggies on the table with homemade paleo ranch dressing. G likes to dip, so this is a hit. It's also a way to get everyone to eat more veggies. If I need a crunchy snack I will grab a bowl of carrots and broccoli with ranch.

What's on your menu for this week?

Our Potty Training Experience with a 2 Year Old!

I thought I would write a blog post on how I potty training G at 2 years and 5 month old. I tried to potty train him around 22 months. It was a horrific 6-8 hours! There was pee all over my entire house. I couldn't handle it and put him back in diapers. I then mopped my entire house and disinfected everything.

It was around Christmas time G started to say he had to go potty or wanted to go. He would pee in the potty before he took a bath every night. He was showing interest. I was worried if we didn't try to potty train him while he was interested he would be 5 before he showed interest again. I was scared to death to try this whole potty training thing again. I knew at some point I was going to have to do it. Not only was he showing interest, but also talking great. When he was 22 months I taught him the sign for potty. He couldn't say pee or poop even at that point.

I decided to do the 3 day potty training. I let him run around naked for almost a week. I put the potty chair in between our family and living room near where his play area was. I wanted him to have easy access to getting to the potty as fast as possible. I felt it was important he make it to the potty than running all the way to the bathroom peeing all the way there. We didn't have anywhere to go that week.

Monday morning we woke up and started. He just wore a tshirt. I turned the heat up in the house. We played with toys. I was right by him. He peed on the floor. I just told him you need to go to the potty. Within 4-6 hours he got it. He was able to run to the potty when if he started to pee a little. We were in the kitchen cooking. He jumped off the chair saying pee pee and ran to his potty. What a relief!

I will say pee was the easiest when he was naked for the first month. If he wore clothes, was busy playing or we were out he would just pee. When we went to the store I took him to the bathroom right away and before we left. At home he did great wearing underwear. It was too hard for him to wear pants and go to the bathroom alone. We went through A LOT of underwear each week. A lot of times he would leak some then run to the potty. I kept putting underwear on him because he needed to get use to wearing clothes.

Now poop was a whole different story. I guess he was just so use to going in his diaper he thought he could go anywhere. The first week I was in tears a few times. I am going to spare the details of this. There were times I felt I had an animal living in my house. Once we were a week into potty training I got an idea to make some surprise eggs for him. He loves to watch this kid on Youtube Ryan opening these surprise eggs. I decided to make him some surprise eggs with plastic Easter eggs and little boys I found at Target. I told him if he pooped in the potty he would get a surprise egg. That did the trick. We rarely had anymore issues with poop.

The first two months were a little difficult when we went out or he was preoccupied playing or watching a show. Month three there were very little to no accidents at home. By month four he was telling me when he had to pee. We left him over night with my friend when we went away for our anniversary. I was really nervous with leaving him for so many reasons. One we had been potty training and I was going to leave someone else deal with all that. I just decided hey she has done this before. She offered. She is fine with all this, so go have some fun. After that weekend he rarely had any accidents. He didn't have any with her at all. Maybe that was the trick he needed to see he could do it all on his own without me. Or have someone else praise him.

I used pull ups for nap time and diapers for bedtime. I think the 3 day potty training instructions say to not use any diapers at all. I wasn't willing to wash sheets constantly. He was still filling up a diaper completely at night. Sometimes the diaper even leaked that is how much he was peeing in the night. Within 3 months he no longer wore a pull up for nap time. I would say half the time he was dry. I stopped using anything at nap time. Night time we still use a diaper. He has only woken up a few times to pee in the night. Lately he has been waking up with dry diapers. Once he goes for a little while with a dry diaper I will stop them. Maybe I won't need to buy anymore after this pack.

I didn't use prizes constantly. When he first started we did lots of cheering for pee. I used the surprise eggs for maybe a couple weeks. I didn't even give an egg every time. If he didn't ask for one I didn't offer. When he seemed to be having trouble or rough days I would offer fruit snacks, beef sticks or whatever other thing he was currently into as a treat. It worked for us. I don't give him any treats now for going to the bathroom.

There are two items I would recommend.

1. Change your toilet seats to the child seat and adult seat all in one. You can find them on Amazon for like $20 HERE. Using the child seat you have to take on and off is a pain! This is just so easy and easy to clean. I took off our old seat and put on this new one. You will need a step stool to wash hands, so you can use the same stool to climb up on the toilet. I felt these seats help for when you are out and need to use a regular toilet. They aren't as terrified of a big toilet. Thankfully G hasn't had any fears of falling in or of public toilets.

2. If you are potty training a boy get one of these little urinals. I bought ours on Amazon for $5 you can find it HERE. They are freakin hilarious, but also fabulous for a boy! Boys are TERRIBLE with their aim! I first trained G to sit down and pee. One day he told me "no, momma me pee like da da". That was it! He stood to pee after that. The night thing when we are out is I can just hold him up to a toilet and let him pee. He very rarely sits on a seat in public.

I had talked to a friend who had potty trained her little girl 6 months before G. We were 2 months into it. I said does this get any easier? When do the accidents stop? I was feeling a little discouraged one day. She said by month four she stopped carrying extra clothes and her daughter started telling her when she had to go. I am so thankful for her encouragement because I would think month four month four month four during rough days. I have to agree by month four things were soooo much easier.

Hopefully our experience will help someone who is getting ready to start the potty training journey!

Running through Mud Puddles!

My mom sent G a pair of camo rain boots. He LOVES those things! He likes to wear them with shorts, jeans, no pants and pajamas. They are his favorite shoes he owns. I took him up to a little river in a park near our house. I thought it would be fun to go walk around in the water in our rain boots. I pulled mine out and away we went for some fun.

He found lots of rocks.

He had a blast running through this little mud puddle.

I will admit I even had fun walking through the mud puddle. I LOVE to drive through big puddles of water. When I had a truck I use to go flying through puddles. I was a little worried what if he fell down in the mud puddle? Then I just thought whats the worst thing I strip him down and he rides naked the little drive we have home. Thankfully he didn't fall down. He had so much fun. When we got to the car his boots were full of water, pants were went, but he had a lot of fun.

Monday Thrive!

Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is having a fabulous holiday weekend.

1) I wrote a blog post that will come out on Friday about potty training G. I had 2 things on my new years resolution list that I wanted to complete for G. Potty training him and taking away his bottles. I was happy to put check marks by them now that they are completed. I expected it to be a horrible week once we took the bottles away, but honestly it was only 1 horrible bedtime. The rest of the time if he got upset I was able to distract him. I also thought maybe he would drink less milk without a bottle. Turns out we have been going through more milk. One of the reasons I waited so long to take away his bottle was because I felt he needed the extra calories from milk.

2) Summer vacations are already starting! Have you bought sunscreen for this summer? Even if you are staying home this summer you will still need sunscreen. BeautyCounter's sunscreen does not have any harmful chemicals and it is safe for the entire family! I keep the stick in my purse, so I have sunscreen with us at all times. Protect your skin!

3) What did we do before there was Google or Youtube? I use Google a bazillion times a day.  I recently bought a stroller second hand. I needed to know how to fold it, move the seats, and even how to open it once it was folded. I was able to Youtube all the instructions.

I have used a Bob Revolution Stroller since G was born. Well let me say I have had like 5 strollers. Over time I have gotten rid of some. The first one I bought was a Bugaboo. It was my dream stroller. Once I had it for a year I got rid of it. I liked it, but I liked my Bob and Maclaren a lot better.

I have been babysitting for a little baby for a couple weeks. I like to go on walks. I needed a double stroller, but I didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. I had thought about buying a double Bob. I ended up finding a Phil & Ted double jogger stroller for a steal on a mommy board. Well this stroller is a game changer. I am going to sell my Bob. If you end up needing a double stroller the Phil & Ted is worth very penny. I suggest looking for a used one if you can find it. They run over $500 plus extra for accessories.

One thing I love about the Phil & Ted is the fact I can use it as a single stroller or double stroller. If I have an extra child with me I can add on the seat, but if it is just G & me it can be a single stroller. I would happily have a garage full of strollers. My husband on the other hand is not happy with me and all my strollers. I do keep it down to 2 strollers now. At one time we did have 4 strollers in our garage.

I won't be getting rid of my Maclaren! I will keep that one until G no longer needs a stroller. A friend graciously gave me that one and it's one of my favorites. It is a fabulous stroller once your child can sit up on their own. I love that it is compact, doesn't take up much trunk room, but is very sturdy. I hate cheap flimsy umbrella strollers.

4) I have been on the hunt for some "mom" shorts! I don't want some frumpy shorts that make me look 60, but I need them longer. I am not comfortable with super short shorts. I wanted distressed denim shorts. I tried some on at Target that looked awful! It was nice to be in regular sizes, but just because something fits doesn't mean you buy them. They just weren't flattering at all. The price was nice, but the rest of them looked awful.

I love how American Eagle jeans fit me. I ended up finding a pair online that I ordered. They are skinny bermuda distressed denim shorts. I ended up going to the store recently. I like a lot of their clothes, but I felt like a granny in there. All these young kids who were like 12-18 years old were crammed inside the store. I think that is a store I need to visit on a Monday evening when the mall is empty, so I don't feel so darn old. lol  Check out their jeans! They really fit amazing.

5) I changed my name on Instagram to MrsPost08Blog. I am considering changing my blog name to MrsPost08 Blog. I realized recently that I don't even have my blog name on the top of my blog anymore. I have called it Because Chocolate Can't Get You Pregnant for the longest time. The name change just seems more fitting these days. I am going to be working on updating the look of the blog in the near future. I would love it if you would follow me on Instagram!

Weekly Menu - Paleo

Recently a couple people have made comments they miss my menu blog posts. I use to post them every Monday. I changed what I post on Monday's, so I stopped posting my menu. I thought I could still post my menu, but on a different day.

I have been cooking Paleo for my family now for over a year. I do make G pasta and sandwiches. I am not tempted by either of those things. The only thing I can't resist that isn't Paleo is gummy bears. Lord have mercy if those things are in the house they are GONE! I have asked Art not to bring me any even if I am having a TERRIBLE day because I have no self control.

At dinner I serve everyone the same meal. At times I do make something a little different for G. He doesn't like stews or soups. I no longer battle with him on those things. If I make stew or soup I just make something for G.  I get a lot of my menu ideas from Pinterest. I have a things pinned on my Paleo board that might not be Paleo standards, but I change the ingredients to thing I can have.

I recently bought the Wahls Protocol Cooking for Life. I strayed off some of the Wahls Protocol for a month or two. I started to feel really awful again. I have gone back to following her protocol very strictly and I am feeling much better again. Potatoes and sugar are not my friend. Once in a great while I can have potatoes, but I can't make them part of my daily menu.

I make a main dish and then pick a few side dishes to go with our main dish. I make breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the week. Once in awhile we will go out to eat. I don't think we eat out more than 3 times a month. G and I might go to lunch with some friends once a month. The 3 of us will go out to dinner maybe twice a month. It's a rare thing we eat out.

Main Dishes:

Pork Loin
Chicken Pot Pie Soup
Sausages
Hot Dogs & Sauerkraut

Side Dishes:
Roasted Cauliflower
Roasted Broccoli
Roasted Carrots
Salad
Roasted Potatoes
Saute Kale
Creamed Spinach
Loaded Cauliflower

The tortillas I make at least once a month and I make a triple batch now. We all love them! I make tacos, quesadillas, and enchiladas with the tortillas. When I make them I have to eat one as soon as they are completed. They are just delicious!

The pizza crust I make from Juli Bauer Cookbook. It's the best crust! I make my own tomato sauce. I will put mushrooms, spinach, scrambled Italian sausage and Daiya cheese. This fixes my pizza craving every time.

What are you having for dinner this week?

Monday Thrive

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend! It has been soooo hot for us. It has been running in the high 80's. Thankfully it has been cooling off at night, so the house cools off too.

1) I have been going to the thrift store for the past year and a half to buy G jeans. I usually buy him 1-2 pair from Gap. I buy him 5-7 pairs for play at the thrift store. I usually can buy them for about $1.50-$2 a pair. Depending on the brand and condition I will pay up to $4 a pair.

I have a system I use when I am at the thrift store. I start a pile of his current size, must have an adjustable waist, straight leg and the knees need to look good. If they don't fit those requirements they stay on the rack. Once I have a pile I then go through my pile and pick out the best pairs. I went to the thrift store last weekend and I was able to score 5 pairs for $11. One pair is a 5T, but they were in really great condition for only $2.25. If the jeans get ruined for whatever reason I am not upset because I got a deal on them.

2) I recently bought a new tumblers. I don't want to use plastic cups anymore, so I bought a stainless steal one on Amazon. It's a Haute 30 oz tumbler in a light pink. Let me just say this thing is AMAZING! I left it in the car twice on days when it was 80 degrees for up to 4 hours. I had ice water in the cup. When I returned to the car there was still ice in the thing!

I bought these straws to go with my tumbler. I really like them. When I run the dishwasher I just through the straws in. I have enough to rotate.

The instructions for the tumbler said not to put it in the dishwasher. I have been diligent about hand washing each time. I love this thing! It is worth the money especially for the summer! I took it with me to the zoo last week. It fits in my stroller cup holder. I had nice cold ice water through our entire zoo visit. If you know me then you know I drink A LOT of water. Water is so important for your health! Make sure you are getting your water in each day.

3) I have talked about BeautyCounter's Mattifying Powder during a previous Monday Thrive. I have to say again how much I just love it. This past weekend like I said it was really hot. One morning I didn't put any powder on after I did my make up. Usually I put on my concealer, then put on some powder. Once I have completed all my eye make up right before my mascara I also put on the powder. I have noticed it helps my mascara stay in place better all day. Well I noticed a HUGE difference by not using it at all one day. Possibly from the heat too but I looked like a raccoon half way through the day. I don't have a problem with my eye make up coming off if I use the powder.

4) Can we talk about toddlers and straws? Why do they need to bite the ends of them? This cup was like 5 minutes old and already the straw was destroyed. A week later this same straw is bitten up half way down. I had to buy more sippy cups since we stopped using bottles. It has been 3 weeks since we took his bottles away. He doesn't ask for them anymore. Once in awhile he will mention them. If he wants milk he is happy to have it in a cup.

5) I took Bart to work almost every day for 7 years. I usually had a good store about the riders at least once a week. You do become immune to the insanity going on around you. I learned very early on to put headphones on or I would end up being highly annoyed every day on my commute. I don't have patience for nonsense in the mornings and some of these folks - holy cow!  Well last week I took G to San Francisco. On the way home we were at one of the stations. I looked to see some person sleeping on a bench, but they had so kindly taken their shoes. It cracked me up! They weren't on their couch. People walk all over those benches, so they could have kept their shoes on.

No More Ba Ba's!

The day has finally come to take away G's bottles. No mommy judging here folks. Yes, I 2.5 year old still had a bottle up until now. He LOVED his bottle. Like he would dance around when I would make them. The boy has been potty trained for awhile, but still had a bottle. He was at the point he could make his own bottle.

G would have bottles throughout the day, nap time and bedtime. I didn't limit how often or how much he had. He only got almond milk in them. The boy thinks sparkling water is juice, so he didn't get juice in them. Most of the time I would give him one if he asked unless it was right before a meal. He had a bottle day 1 in the hospital. My milk hadn't come in and his sugar was low. I didn't freak out about it. I knew I would nurse and it would all be ok.

He ended up with jaundice pretty bad. We gave him bottles of pumped milk to make sure he was getting enough milk to get the jaundice to pass. He ended up LOVING bottles and didn't want to nurse. I had to really work with him to get him to nurse. He would SCREAM his head off because he wanted a bottle. Once he was able 6 weeks old it clicked and he nursed until he was 15 months.

I pumped until he was a year old and gave him bottles. Once he was a year I switched him over to milk. I would nurse him when too until we weaned. The kid has had bottles his entire life. I was the one not wanting to take it away. Art on the other hand was ready to take them away. I told Art we would take it away on a Friday that way if we needed a nap from late night or middle of the night crying we could take one on Saturday and Sunday.

I didn't want to take them away because I have felt this might be my only baby. I wanted him to be a baby as long as possible. This year though he started sleeping in a regular bed, potty trained and will be starting preschool. The time has come that the bottle needs to go. A couple days before we took them away I stopped giving him a bottle during the day. I also would talk to him how his bottles would be going away. Bottles were for babies and he needed to give them away now.

I knew though the first day was going to be awful! I figured the first day he would cry throughout the day. He ended up falling asleep in the car for his nap. I was able to move him inside and he still napped for awhile. When he woke up from his nap he normally wants a ba ba. I gave him a cup of milk and he happily drank it. Probably only the 2nd time he has drank milk out of a cup. If I gave him a cup in the past with milk he would say no ba ba. He would refuse a cup of milk.

Now let's get to bedtime. Oh lord! He loves his bottle of milk before bed. We read a couple books, he has his milk and he goes to sleep. We have a good system down. I knew bedtime would be rough. He went ballistic that I tried to give him a cup of milk for bed. He was screaming no babies take ba ba. more ba ba. I showed him how there were no ba bas in bottle drier, dish washer or fridge. It went on for an hour. Finally he crashed. He woke up at 5:30am asking for a ba ba. I told him sorry we don't have any.  I offered him a cup of milk, he drank a little and went back to sleep within 15 minutes.

He asked for a bottle the next day. I would say sorry no bottles. He usually went to do something else. He had a couple cups of milk. One time he had a major meltdown crying for a ba ba and for tv. Neither of which were an option at the time. Over tired and change is rough on my kid. Nap time went a lot smoother. He took a cup of milk and crashed. A couple days after his bottles were taken away he was really upset. He was crying and VERY dramatic. He told Art all my baba's are all gone. whyyyyyyy whyyyyyyy!!!! He was crying, big tears just so upset as he said whyyyyy whyyyyy. We didn't laugh at the moment, but later we were cracking up after he went to sleep. It was so dramatic and hilarious.

If I had to do it all over again I would have taken the bottle away when he was a year old. At one I would have just offered a cup. I just was worried he needed the extra calories. He has been such a skinny kid. I also wanted to keep him a baby for awhile too. I don't regret letting him keep his bottle. I just feel it would have been an easier transition at one than at two and a half.

Monday Thrive!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend and all you mother's had a Happy Mother's Day!

1) I wanted to start this Monday Thrive off with one of my favorite new BeautyCounter products! I recently decided to try the Tint Skin. I don't wear foundation very often. Lately I have felt I wanted to wear it more. Even out my skin and to help my make up stay in place. I decided to try the Tint Skin about 2 weeks ago. Normally if I wear foundation for a week straight I will start to have breakouts along the sides of my face near the hairline closest to my eyes. The breakouts can get pretty bad.

I have been wearing the Tint Skin for over 2 weeks and my skin is still great. I love that I can apply it with a foundation brush over my entire face. It doesn't feel like I have anything on my face. Half the time I forget I even have a foundation on. It is so light weight! It has great coverage, but isn't heavy. I really hate heavy products on my face. I ended up going with the sand color. It is a perfect match for my skin tone. I might need to go one shade darker for the summer time. All depends how much sun I get on my face.

I included the color chart below if you need help on finding the perfect color for you.

2) I have a lot of different blog posts going through my head that I want to write. I want to write about potty training G. I started in January when he was 2 years 4 months. I have a lot of reasons why I started then and what has worked for us. Then I would like to write about recent purchases, more on Paleo, skin care routine and a Father's Day gift guide. Friday I am talking about taking G's bottles away. Yes, I potty trained him first then I took his bottles away.

3) I have really been wanting the bow sandals by Sam & Libby at Target. I tried to find them in store, but they were sold out. They were also sold out online for a little while. One day I checked online and they were back in stock. I quickly ordered my size. I just received them. I love them! They are so comfy and cute! These are going to be great for this summer.

4) G loves popsicle. What kid doesn't! I am not a fan of all the sugar and artificial crap that is added to most of them. I decided I would make him some. I could get some extra veggies in there for him too. I bought these popsicle molds on Amazon. I take a couple handfuls of spinach, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1-2 cups of fruit and blend it all. Then I pour it into the molds and freeze them. Over ripe bananas work great for these! He loves them! He calls them popsies.

5) It's hard to believe G birthday is approaching again so soon. I think this year we are going to rent a space at the park and do a jumpy house. All G wants is piecy (pizza), jumpy house and cake. At 2.5 that is the perfect party for him. That works well for me. I will just get some pizza and cake from Costco and rent a jumpy house. I need to get this all booked very soon. The summer is going to go by quickly and I am sure things will fill up soon. I really wanted to have the party at the park down the street from our house, but they don't allow jumpy houses.

Spring OOTD

I recently bought this tshirt on Etsy. I think the eyelash and lip shirts are really cute. I went out with a friend for drinks one night and wore this. I haven't worn a blazer in ages. I use to wear them all the time for work. I tried to find some similar booties like the ones I am wearing. I bought mine at Nordstrom Rack on a great deal! I found a couple pairs that are similar I linked below.

Blazer: Old from Target (similar)

I love these jeans! I wear them at least 3 times a week. Sometimes I have to force myself to wear something different. I have 2 pairs. I bought a pair at Gap and American Eagle. The pair from Gap I got for like $10. It was the only pair they had or I would have bought a second pair. I just love them because they are so comfy, cropped and they don't sag. I really like cropped jeans because I can wear them with booties, sandals or my converse. I don't have to roll them up at all. They are just perfect!

I bought the sweater from Nordstrom Rack a few years back. It's a staple. Just a simple crewneck black comfy cardigan. I can't find anything on their website currently that is similar. You can find this type of sweater anywhere. Target even sells them.

I recently bought this dress from Old Navy. I have been on the fence about this dress over the past year. I LOVE it, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to wear a form fitting dress. I decided that I needed to stop being over self conscious. This dress is the perfect dress for summer! It is comfy, cool and covers enough while chasing a toddler. I wore it recently when it was 89 degrees! We were dying from the heat. We went from the 60's to almost 90. I suggest you add it to your wardrobe!
