Cupcakes

I received a cake decorating kit for a wedding gift. I tried it once and it was a HUGE mess. Tonight I decided to make some cupcakes and buttercream frosting. This is my second time trying the cake decorating kit. I have to say it was a 100 times easier with the buttercream frosting. Frosting is soooo yummy!

Gilroy Garilic Festival & Meeting New Friends

Yesterday Art and I went to the Gilroy Garlic Festival. I have wanted to go every year. One of my knottie/nestie friends has been planning for a few months to fly up from Southern California to come to the festival. That sealed the deal this year because we wanted to finally meet in person. I have talked to the same girls on the Knot and now the Nest for almost 2 years online or texting, but never met them in person. We all planned our weddings together and some of us were married on the same day. Krystal and her husband Eric were also married on April 12, 2008. I was able to meet them yesterday and had such a wonderful time. Krystal is such a sweet girl! I wish they would move to Northern California! Here are some pictures from the day.

Country/Suburb Girl

I realized today after 15+ years that I am honestly a country girl. I was in SF for a few hours today. I am fine with going to visit the city, but I am not sure about going to the city daily. I saw all these people walking around on their lunch hours...taking public transportation....having a grand time. I am terrified of public transportation or giving my keys to some parking lot attendant for the day. The thought of taking public transportation daily to SF seems crazy to me. I could be one of those "Bart" riders.

Please bring me my horse and buggy! LOL The first time in 20 yrs understand why my dad loved ND so much. He use to complain about the traffic all the time in MI. I loved it for awhile....I finally am at the place I understand all his complaining.

I will become Little Miss Prairie if need be. I like the 10 mile 10 minute commute! I always wanted to be the city girl. I just am not sure I am a city girl after all. Maybe I am a suburb girl.

July 4th

Art and I went to Redwood City for their 4th of July parade. We had planned to stay for the day in Redwood City for a festival. There were way too many people and it was way too hot. We went to the in laws to grill out and shoot off some fireworks.

Hoola Hooping Exercise Group.
The civil war guy being pushed in the wheel chair cracked me up.

Here we are waiting for the parage to start. Doesn't Art look thrilled?

Getting ready to shoot off some fireworks.

Nana & Dora

Here is my husband lighting a firework to throw at my feet. He kept throwing these little fireworks that spin around at my feet. I would scream & run away. He thought it was so funny.

Santa Cruz

A couple weeks ago we went to Santa Cruz for the weekend!

The Zoo

Yesterday the company I work for had a picnic at the San Francisco Zoo. We had to go on a camera scavenger hunt for the first 2 hours. Then we went back and had lunch. We had a lot of fun. Art and I went to look at all the animals at the end. We didn't have time to look at the animals while we were running around taking pictures.

My husband being a cute kangaroo!
Prairie Dogs
Here is a picture of the cage where the tiger jumped out and killed the kid in 2007, I believe. Now they have glass over, so it can't jump out. Art and I were talking how the tiger had to be really mad in order to jump so far. It isn't just a little jump. Doesn't look as big in the picture.
Art said the female lion was acting like me...She kept putting her feet on the male lion. He said I always have to touch him while I am sleeping. When the male lion would move she would wake up and move closer to him. Aw how sweet. =)

Bear digging fish out of an ice block.

Me next to zebra and giraffe. I had a giraffe print purse and a zebra headband. Festive!
This man was carrying the eagle to scare some of the birds away, while they fed some gross birds! See the bird above with the long hanging things on their neck.

The peacock above just walked right in front of me across the path. So pretty!

Sewing

Here are a few things I have been sewing lately. I think I have made about 8 bibs, 8 burp cloths, 10 wet bags, 2 dresses, and 4 onesies. I have added some of these items to my etsy site. The little dresses are just soooo adorable.
