3 Years

Today 3 years ago I finally had enough and walked out of my job.  I haven't regretted one single day of my decision. I feel it was one of the best decisions I have made.

Today is a day to celebrate! I will not ever put up with someone treating me so poorly ever again.

Pinterest Saturday - Mint

Mint is one of the hottest colors for Spring. I am LOVING it! I have added a few items to my closet.

Here are some adorable mint outfits.

How awesome are these Hunter boots? OMG I LOVE THEM!

Nana's Birthday

This past weekend was my mother in laws birthday.  I have been blessed with a mother in law that loves the simple things in life. I asked her what she would like to eat and what kind of cake. She told me she wanted a baked chicken and a Jello Cheesecake.

My mother in law is the QUEEN of buying us stuff from infomercials and seen on tv store. I went to try to find something she doesn't have from the store and found one thing.  The One Second Needle kit. She also likes to buy us gag gifts.  While we were grocery shopping Art picked out a packet of prunes. MIL & FIL got quite a laugh out of the prunes. MIL told us the needle and the prunes were her favorite gifts. lol

Bart Happenings Week 10

WOW I can't believe I have already posted 10 weeks of Bart craziness. When Art suggested writing about Bart, I wasn't sure I could come up with enough stories. What was I thinking? Of course I can come up with stories. There is usually a story every single day. Some of it I notice and a lot I don't. You just get use to the craziness happening around you.

Earlier this week a woman got on the train and ran to an empty seat. When she arrived she noticed the guys coat was laying on the seat. She picked it up with the tips of her fingers and laid the jacket on the sleeping guy. Well that woke him up. He was drunk and decided he wanted to chat. The woman was very into her book and didn't want to chat with him.

The man got out of his seat and started ranting. He was very upset that people just don't want to carry on a proper conversation these days. I think he yelled for about 3-4 minutes and then got off the train at the next stop.  Some of the people shook their heads and a few of us busted up laughing.  The lady sitting behind me asked exactly what a proper conversation on Bart is?  No one talks on Bart, so why did he think it would be proper.

Rio Vista Clyde

One of my coworkers recently took me to Rio Vista Clyde at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. O-M-G is that place AMAZING!!!! Everything is made with fresh organic food.

They have the most amazing pulled pork sandwich. The pork is soooo tender and flavorful! If you are ever in the area try the pulled pork and one of their salads. Mmmmmm I am getting hungry just thinking about the place!

Ethopian Food

A couple months back I went to dinner with a couple friends. One of them was talking about Ethiopian Food and how delicious it was. Well I got curious and told her I wanted to try it. A couple weeks ago we met for Ethiopian food. We went to Addis Restaurant in Berkeley.

It was amazing! The food is all put on one platter and serve with bread. The bread is used as your utensil.  The bread is round like a tortilla, but it has a spongy texture. Here is what we had for dinner:

TIBS
Tender pieces of chicken sautéed in Addis’s seasoned butter with onions, garlic, rosemary, and fresh herbs.

ATER KIK
Split peas cooked slowly in a blend of spices, onions, garlic, turmeric, and herbed oil.

I am not sure what the third thing was called, but it was
Chunks of carrots and green beans cooked slowly in a blend of spices, onions, garlic, turmeric, and herbed oil.

I can't wait to go back again and try some other items on the menu!

Bart Happenings Week 9

It is much harder to get a picture in the morning then the afternoon. In the morning people are a little more awake and paying attention. In the afternoon everyone is exhausted from work they are in la la land!

Yesterday there was a guy on Bart with brown pants, red shirt and pink socks. I think he washed his red shirt with his white socks.

We have been getting a lot of rain recently.  The homeless people try to get out of the rain and will come into the San Francisco station.  Last week there was a couple having an argument. The woman had a big purple rolling suitcase and the guy had a smaller suitcase with a big sleeping bag. They were having an argument. The man yelled at the women WHERE ARE YOU TRYING TO GO? She yells back I AM TRYING TO GO TO HAWAII, WHERE ARE YOU TRYING TO GO? He asked her how she thought she was going to get to Hawaii. She told him she bought a plane ticket from Southwest.  A picture wouldn't have done this couple justice. I needed to video them and the fight. It was soooo funny! I was cracking up as I ran up the stairs.

I wonder if she had a credit card she bought her plane ticket with or if she thought she could turn in all the pennies she had collected?  Hmmm wonder if they made it to Hawaii!

Jersey Knit Bracelet

I tried to make one of projects I found on Pinterest last weekend. A jersey knit bracelet. I had brown knit fabric in my scrap fabric box.  I followed V and Co tutorial and you can find it here. I want to make one in mint and hot pink. They were super easy and fast! I made 2 bracelets in less than 10 minutes.

Bart Happenings - Week 8

I have mentioned previously that I ride to with one group of people and home with another group of people. One of the people that rides the train on the way home is Grandma Sophia. A coworker and I use to refer to her as just grandma.  In the past 2 weeks we changed her name to Grandma Sophia because she looks like Sophia from the Golden Girls.

A couple months back she was talking on her cell phone about a girl having surgery and going into detail about female issues. My coworker thought she was talking about her daughter and was rather disturbed she would share so much. Grandma was talking about her female dog. I had a good laugh about that one.  Grandma has one puppy left from the litter her dog just had.

Grandma is below with the white hair.  Sitting next to her is a blind man with his guide dog. Watching the dog is just amazing. He knows which stop they are suppose to get off at. The dog will be resting, they get to a certain stop and the dog gets up. It also amazing me how the owner knows they will be going down stairs. I don't know much about guide dogs. I am sure they are trained to alert the owner some way. It is just amazing to watch.
