Week of Iphone Photos

Photo 1 - My friend Maria tweeted a picture of a ring she bought at a flea market. I replied with hey I want one. Guess what came in the mail? The adorable ring! What a great friend!!! I <3! Thank you Maria!

Photo 2 - I am officially elderly. In order to see far away I have to wear my glasses. I was looking out my window at work the other day and had NO idea what the sign on the bus said. I put my glasses on and I could see perfectly. ugh!

Photo 3 - Ladies retreat at our church. The picture is of Mrs. Rasmussen and my pastor wife Mrs. Fong.

Essie Nail Polish

I have been a BIG fan of Essie nail polish for close to 2 years now. I have even got my friends convinced this is the best nail polish around! Just the nail polish on my fingers will last about 3 days before I start getting little chips. I am lucky if any other nail polish will last 1-2 days without starting to chip.

I was thinking about getting a manicure and getting the gel polish. One of my friends told me not to do it because your nails get super week. She suggested just getting a good base and top coat.  Well I have tried top coats in the past and didn't like them. The problem is they just peal right off and the nail polish then peals. I haven't tried base coats though. I figured I better give it a try before I try gel nails.

Ulta sent me a 20% off my entire purchase. Oh I LOVE Ulta! I decided to pick up the Essie base coat and give it a try. Well let me tell you I am SOLD on base and top coats.

Here is a picture of my nails after 4 days with Essie base coat, Essie Fiji and Essie top coat. I had been traveling and they looked amazing after 4 days. I will be using a base and top coat going forward!

Bart Happening Week 11

There were LOTS of seats on this particular day on Bart, but these 2 people insisted on sitting on the grubby floor. YUCK! It always irritates me when people sit on the floor. I rarely even put bags on the floor. I would have to go home and scrub myself with bleach.

Macaroons & Blue Tongues

Last week I was able to spend a couple days with Krystal. She had mentioned she was making macaroons. I asked her to save me some. I <3 me some macaroons and fresh are the very best!  When I arrived she had blueberry peanut butter and jelly macaroons. O-M-G!!!  I love anything peanut butter!!!!

Krystal's husband Eric was laughing at me because my entire tongue turned blue!  I think I ate 5 of them the first day. Then I asked her to please put them away before I finished them off.

Krystal is due on May 9. I can't wait for little Cookie to come into the World, so I can buy pink or blue. Why do my friends insist on being team green and keeping me in suspense??

Menu Monday

I haven't really planned out my meals for 2 weeks. I traveled for work last week Monday through Wednesday. I just don't feel I have been able to get back into the swing of things.  I have thrown some ideas together and grabbed a few things at the store for meals. Art is in training all week, so I don't have to make him lunches.

1. Mini Chicken Pot Pies - found it on Pinterest.
2. Quesadilla
3. Pizza
4. Fish & red potatoes

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

Today is my mom birthday!  I thought I would tell you a few things about my precious mom with her names. Kim is her first name, mom is something we use to call her, but now we call her Mausha. Mausha and Fausha is what we call our parents. lol

Mom I hope you have a fabulous birthday! You are truely an amazing woman. I am so thankful to have such a strong, honorable, loving, kind and caring mother! I have been blessed to have you as such an amazing example. You have shown me how to be a strong woman and to make it through anything life throws me.

You taught me how to be a wife. How to love your husband through the ups and downs of life. How to run a household. When a crisis comes you drop whatever to be there for your family. Even if it means leaving the dessert in the oven and running to the pasture to chase down a cow, while your husband is trying to rope it from the back of the pick up! Or how to cook a meal at 9 years old....meat, potatoes and veggies.

I love you and I am so greatful for you! Happy Birthday!

Seaching for a Green Dress....

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit from The New Girl! I saw this a couple weeks ago. First I took a picture of it with my phone and then posted on FB how much I loved the outfit. My cousin found a website and sent it to me with the picture below.

Now the problem is trying to find a green dress. I have been searching for weeks! I tried something on this past weekend, but it just wasn't very "cute".  I am thinking I might have to make a dress. I know the style of dress would be easy to make, but I simply didn't want to sew the dress. It would be so much easier to just buy a cute green dress!

The dress in the picture is from Anthro and it retailed for $149 and was on sale for $89.  However they didn't have my size. ugh!  I already have the cardigan......now I just need the dress! The search continues!

Saturday Pinterest

In honor of celebrating our Anniversary this week I thought I would go with a wedding theme for today!  I think I might be feeling sickly because I wish I could replan our wedding. I want a wedding redo. lol I loved our wedding, but I have so many more ideas. Planning our wedding was almost as stressful as buying our house. I think the house won in the end.

Back to being in love and thinking of weddings.....

I love this picture and her dress! So beautiful!

I love the idea of people just sitting where they want. We didn't have people sit on a certain side at our wedding other than our parents.

Isn't her hair so pretty, but simple

Cute idea for a fan & program

Easter

I Easter Bunny came to our house this past Sunday!  My mom still sends me an Easter basket every year! I forgot to take a picture of what she sent me, but my basket arrived a week before Easter! I was soooo excited! She sent me Easter plates & napkins, bunny towels and an egg wreath. All so cute and festive.

Art also made me an Easter basket. I was soooo surprised! Look at my adorable Easter basket! What a great man! He knows I love a surprise.

Here we are all dressed up to go to church on Easter!

My in laws came over after church and I cooked a ham, green bean casserole, corn salad and a snicker pie. My MIL brought potato salad and rolls. It was delish! We have enough ham leftover to feed half our block. I tried to find the smallest ham at the store. The smallest I could find was 9 pounds. I cut it all up and put some in the freezer. I might not have to buy any groceries for a couple weeks because the freezer is PACKED.  I will probably just have to buy some produce for the next 2 weeks.

Happy Anniversary to US!

4 years ago we said "I Do"

Hard to believe we have been married for 4 years already. Although our wedding day seems like 100 years ago too. The day was filled with so much love. We had so many of our close friends and family members by our side.

and lets not forget the wedding crashers! The couple below showed up at our wedding. I had no idea who they were. I asked Art...he then asked his mom. Turns out it was a couple his mom knew that found out about the wedding and showed up.

When Art and I decided to get married we were in it for the long haul. We figured we would probably be married about 40 years. That would take us to Art being 80 and me 67. That seems like an eternity right now, but the last 4 years have flown by.  Here is to another 36 years of marital bliss!!!!

Get off the couch!

5:30a

I decided to sign up for some personal trainer sessions at my gym. I really want to work on getting everything toned up. I have had 2 sessions and BOY am I feeling the pain.

Here is an outline of the past 2 sessions:

Session 1 - We met for 30 minutes to go over what I have been doing to lose weight. My daily calorie intake and a typical day of what I eat. Then we worked out for 30 minutes.
25 reps of picking up a heavy ball and dropping it over my head - I am sure this has an official name
25 reps of squats with a kettle ball - KILLERS
20 minutes of kickboxing - my FAVORITE!!! I love kickboxing

Session 2 - asked how my week had been and got right into business
Warm up for 5 minutes on elliptical
We did 3 sets of the following:
25 reps of wall squats - I liked these much better than your normal squat. I had a big ball behind my lower back and held a 6 pound medicine ball out in front of me. This doesn't sound too hard except my upper body is soooo weak it KILLED to hold that medicine ball.
20 mountain climbers
20 modified push ups
20 stomach crunches - laid on the ball while holding the medicine ball over my head and raised my upper body toward the ceiling. UGH!
20 hip raises

I had sweat running down my face when we finished. The rest of the day I couldn't move my arms above my head. The next day I couldn't pull my shirt over my head. I was in tears! The good news IT'S WORKING!

I thinking about taking a Bikram Yoga class.  I have heard some great things about it. The yoga class is a heated room. They encourage you to drink a lot of water prior to the class. There is a place near my house and I would like to give it a try possibly on Sunday.
