Reno Part 2

Night 1
We went to see Bo Bice.  He was the runner up on American Idol season 4.  He lost to Carrie Underwood. We were sitting pretty close to the stage, but the Nugget crams you in there like a bunch of sardines.  I thought the concert was very good...Art thought it was ok. He said he wouldn't buy any of his cd's, but he wouldn't turn the station if he came on the radio.

Day 2

Virginia City!!!! I was on the look out for the Cartwright's!  I was hoping maybe they would have some business to do in Virginia City!

I love how beauty of this church!

I looked across the street & there is the Sheriff!!!!

I walk out of a store & there is a gold miner & donkey coming up the street! This guy reminded me of the movie Brighty.  Billy, Lacey & I use to watch Brighty all the time when we were little.

 Dentist Office above
I want one of these moustache cup's for my house!!! OMG it's sooo cute!!!

Art went to jail! I bailed him out & they threw me in next!

I had a grand time in Virginia City....didn't run into the Cartwright's though! It was fun to go there & walk through all the cute stores.

Lasagna

Growing up with an Italian mother you ALWAYS made lasagna from scratch & NEVER bought a frozen lasagna. Mom usually made her sauce from scratch. I haven't attempted to make the homemade sauce yet.  I remember the first time I saw a frozen lasagna in the store & couldn't believe people didn't make their own lasagna at home & freeze them. I feel you can make a lasagna from scratch just as fast as you can drive to the store & buy a frozen lasagna. A lasagna from the store never compares to a homemade lasagna.  My Italian Great Grandmother made the BEST lasagna!  I miss her cooking!

1 box of lasagna noodles
2 jars of tomato sauce/spaghetti sauce
1 pound of Italian sauce
1 -8oz package of mozzarella cheese
1 container of Ricotta cheese
2 eggs
2 tablespoons Italian spices
2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese
2 cloves of garlic
1/2 onion

Brown your meat with garlic & onions - you do not have to completely cook your meat. You can stop cooking it while it's a little pink.  It will finish cooking in the oven.

Mix 2 eggs into your ricotta cheese, Italian spices and Parmesan cheese.

Pour a little sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 pan

Lay 4 lasagna noodles on the bottom of your pan
Do NOT cook your lasagna noodles ahead of time.  Put them in your pan right from the box. I hate it when people cook their noodles ahead of time.  I think the noodles get soggy & tough!

Spread the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, layer on meat, cover with sauce and sprinkle some mozzarella cheese. Continue to make layer.  I usually make 2 layers.  The top layer I put noodles, sauce & cheese.

Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.  I bake it until the cheese on the top is all melted & starts to turn a little golden.

Art patiently waiting for the train to arrive!

Art kept taking crazy pictures of me, so I had to take a self portrait  =)

Somewhere in CA
One of the rules on the train while sitting in coach is you have to keep your shoes on...well I broke the rules!
