Happy Father's Day

The older I get the more I realized what a great childhood I had. My parents were very protective of us kids. They sheltered us from a lot which kept us innocent. I never had a fear of my parents abusing us in any way. As I have gotten older the relationship with my dad has become great. We have always got a long. I remember when things kind of changed I was in my early 20's. We started to develop more of a friendship and closeness that when I was younger.

The majority of our phone calls are us laughing. We like a lot of the same tv shows, have crazy little sayings that probably no one else understands and like to be goofy. We also have really good talks about life. I know I can call him for advice, to vent, or just for a laugh. My dad doesn't understand he doesn't have to answer his cell phone all the time. There are times he will answer to say I have to call you back. Lacey and I ask him why do you answer if you can't talk? lol

Last night we were on the phone as we were watching Family Feud. We were commenting on these women dresses that were a terrible choice. He says look at her dress it's so tight it looks like she has a hernia. I was laughing so hard I was crying!

My parents balanced each other out while raising us. When one was hard on us the other would usually talk some sense into them. lol I remember my mom got mad when I came home 15 minutes late one time and ground me for I think a month. It was the first time I had ever come home late. I know she was trying to teach me a lesson. I remember hearing my dad say a month? Don't you think that is a bit rough? I think it was reduced to 1 or 2 weeks. It was not reduced that night, but a few days later. Now there are times my dad was hard on me and my mom had to talk to him.

Hanging out reading a horse magazine

Hey, look at all my Christmas gifts!!

How about the mix of plaid???  We do need to work on my dads wardrobe. lol

I look around this insane world we live in and realize just how lucky I am to have a fabulous Fausha!!

Spoiled Little Boy Already!

Our little man is spoiled already! We have received so many clothes for him already. Art told me he is not a doll to dress up. Ha! That is what he thinks. Luckily kids go through a lot of clothes, so all the adorable outfits will be put to use.

My grandma sent the outfits before for little Bing Bong. I LOVE bow ties!!! Aren't they just soooo cute!

My friend Alicia has a little boy that is 5 months old. She gave me all the clothes he has outgrown. I couldn't believe the bag of stuff she hauled out of her car to give me. She told me to come visit her in July and she will give us everything her son has outgrown. I love this!!!!

Look at that pile of clothes!!! We are all set for the first 3-6 months. Pjs, onesies, pants, overalls, sleep sacks, swaddles lots of adorable stuff! The blog will be filled with lots of pictures of our little man wearing all this stuff.

Crafting

The craft room is now gone and has been transformed into a nursery. I will post pictures once it is completed. I got rid of a lot of craft stuff and moved the rest into the guest bedroom. Well I finally got the bug to start making some stuff for the little man. Art asked if I was depressed because I was crafting. lol I told him no I am nesting.

One night I cut everything out and the next day I sewed it all together. I have a pile of other stuff I still want to make. I left the pile of fabric in a box near my spot on the couch, so I will work on it each week.

Puppy & Mustache burp clothes

A lady at church just had a little girl, so I made some burp clothes and bibs for her.
I also made my little man some bandanna bibs.

My list of items I want to make are:
mustache flannel blanket
farm animal waffle knit blanket
camo bib
more burp clothes
decorative onesies
wet bags

Cheater Caramel Rolls

My Grandma Fischer always made the BEST caramel rolls growing up. I have been craving them for a couple weeks. I didn't want to make the dough. I wanted the yummy caramel rolls, but I didn't want to do all the work. I decided to be lazy and make a cheater version.

I bought a half roll of Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls in the refrigerator section. Did you know they sell just 5 rolls in a package? I already had heavy whipping cream and brown sugar at home. I put 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream and a 1/4 cup of brown sugar in a sauce pan, brought it to a boil and then poured it over the cinnamon rolls. I baked them for 12 minutes and wa-la they were AMAZING! They tasted just as good as homemade caramel rolls. I really think it is the sauce that makes caramel rolls amazing!

Recent Haul

Here are a couple of my recent purchases.

I bought 3 little green puppy tails for Bing Bong room! I can't wait to get them. We are making progress on the nursery and I can't wait to reveal it!

I really wanted the Steve Madden leopard slip on shoes. I just couldn't justify $100 for slip on shoes. I could buy 2 pairs of Toms. Well someone posted this pair from ASOS for only $37 bucks. I really hope these are comfy! I am having a lot of trouble with my feet recently, so I need really comfy shoes.

Bing Bong needs a little pair of red skinny pants to go with a black shirt or navy plaid button up. I bought these from Gap on super clearance for $7. I bought them in size 6-12 months.

I have this skirt in blue from Old Navy. It is super comfy. I just bought it in black too. I think I will get a lot of wear out of it during the summer.

I haven't had the best luck with Old Navy tops lately. It is just because my shape has changed so much. I am hoping this top will work for me.

Another Old Navy top. I hope this works because it is super cute!
